What is it?
The Examination for Judicial Justice Judge is an exam to determine the candidates for Judicial Judges and Prosecutors who will be employed within the Ministry of Justice. Only graduates of the Faculties of Law in Turkey and those who have graduated from a foreign faculty of law and who have successfully passed the exams of the courses that are missing according to the programs of law faculties in Turkey. The exam is conducted by ÖSYM (Student Selection and Placement Center) in Ankara.
Required Qualifications for Candidates to Take the Exam
- To be a Turkish citizen,
- Not to be over the age of thirty-five as of the date of the entrance examination.
- For the candidates of judicial judge; To graduate from a law faculty in Turkey and or finished a foreign faculty of law and successfully passed the exams of the courses that are missing according to the programs of law faculties in Turkey and obtained a certificate of achievement for the missing courses.
- Not being banned from public rights,
- For his military status, not having any connection with the mandatory military service or having completed his active duty or postponed or substituted,
- Not having any obstacle such as physical and mental illness or disability that may prevent him from performing his duties as a judge or a prosecutor across the country, and not having difficulty controlling the movement of his speech or body organs that may be odd for the community,
- Except for for negligent crimes, not being convicted for a disgraceful or humiliating crime such as the crimes against the personality of the state as well embezzlement, counterfeiting, extortion, bribery, theft, fraud, forgery, abuse of faith, fraudulent bankruptcy, or criminal offenses of smuggling, rigging of the official tenders and trading, disclosure of State secrets, or not being under investigation or not being convicted of crimes or any acts requiring a liberty-binding penalty for more than three months, excluding crimes of negligence.
- To show success in the written competition exam and in the interview,
- Not having behaved in an attitude or behavior that is not suitable for the profession of judgeship and prosecution,
- For those who want to be a candidate by transferring from the profession of attorney; Having worked in their profession for at least three years; has not completed the age of forty-five as of the date of the entrance examination, and to be successful in the written competition exam and interviews to be held among them.
The Parts Which Candidates Are Subject to the Exam
The General Culture, General Ability Examination for Judicial Judgeship consists of two stages: written and oral. The written examination is conducted by ÖSYM by multiple-choice testing method. In the exam, candidates take the General Ability and General Culture Test consisting of 30 questions and the Field Knowledge Test consisting of 70 questions.
Booklet 1:
General Ability and General Culture Test: With multiple choice questions on Turkish, Mathematics, Turkish Culture and Civilizations, Atatürk’s Principles and History of Revolution and Basic Knowledge of Citizenship;
Common Field Knowledge Test: It consists of multiple choice questions related to Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Legal Trial Procedure, Civil Trial Procedure and Civil Law.
Booklet 2:
judicial justice Test: It consists of multiple choice questions on Obligations Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Trial Procedure, Commercial Law, debt enforcement and bankruptcy law, Labor Law.
Booklet 4:
It consists of a test to be taken by lawyer candidates applying for the Judicial justice-Attorney Exam.
Judicial justice-Attorney Exam: It consists of multiple choice questions on Obligations Law, Criminal Law, Criminal Trial Procedure, Commercial Law, debt enforcement and bankruptcy law, Labor Law.
** The Judicial justice Test and the Judicial justice -Attorney Test will consist of multiple choice questions on the same subjects, but the tests will contain different questions.
** While Booklets 1 and 2 concern graduate candidates, booklet 4 concerns lawyer candidates.
** Those Not Subject to Written Exam
Candidates doing their Doctoral studies and those who have completed their higher education by scholarships granted by the Ministry of Justice are invited for an interview without being subjected to a written exam.
