Certificate Program on Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS

The Purpose of the Program: To establish the theoretical background about structural equation modeling, to teach the applications of structural equation modeling through sample data files with the SmartPLS package program, to show how to report  the data obtained as a result of the analyses to the methodology and findings part of  the thesis/article.

Who Can Participate: Academics and graduate students working in the field of social sciences

Certificate: A certificate is awarded to participants who meet the attendance requirements and become successful in the exam at the end of the program.

Content of the Training:

• Theoretical background (Structural equation concept, comparison of PLS-SEM and CB-SEM, reasons for preference of SmartPLS, reflective and formative variables, internal consistency reliability, convergent validity, discriminant validity, bootstrapping, blindfolding / Q2), R2 and effect size f2, partial predictive power q2, linearity.
• Introduction to the SmartPLS program (interface, preparing the data, creating the project, adding data to the project, sample research model)
• Measurement model (model drawing, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability and validity)
• Relationship analysis (linearity test, relationship coefficients, resampling for relationships, predictive power analysis)
• Mediator analyses
• Moderator analysis (categorical variables, continuous variables)
• Multi-group analysis
• Examples of reporting and interpretation of analysis results to a thesis / article

Each analysis will be carried out three times with different data sets, the first analysis will be done by the trainer and the others by the participants. At the end of the program, with a different data set, a model that includes all the analyses will be tested whether the training has reached its purpose or not.
